Martha Hopler, RN


Martha Hopler is President of Hopler Pilkinton Associates, Inc., a woman owned small business serving the private, government and healthcare sectors. Ms. Hopler began her professional career as a registered nurse in the United States Navy. Following her service commitment, she worked at the National Institutes of Health in Cardiac Surgery and then was a nurse manager at a community hospital. Utilizing her GI Bill benefit she obtained her degree in Business Administration, with a major in Human Resources and Labor Relations. Marti worked as HR executive in both a community hospital and Medstar, the largest hospital in the metropolitan Washington area. Her final position was as the senior human resource executive for MedStar Health.

She continues to consult with several business sectors helping them improve their employee relations. In 2021 these functions and services were shifted to HPA Groups, another business entity she owns.

As part of her consulting business, Marti joined with Les Pilkinton to work in other aspects of the health care arena and the EVS sector. Together they have utilized their combine expertise to develop Hopler Pilkinton Associates, Inc. (DBA HPA Groups) as an environmental services company that focuses on a hands-on approach with health care clients, employee education, infection disease control and optimal safety practices.

Her varied background in healthcare, the military and private business has made her a valuable resource to clients.

Les G. Pilkinton

Executive Vice President

Les Pilkinton has over four decades experience in the health care arena. After receiving his BS degree from N.C. State, he assisted in the design process for the first ambulatory outpatient surgery department in North Carolina. He worked at several small and midsize hospitals to facilitate and manage contract management of the EVS departments with American Management Services. His final assignment with American Management Services was as Director of EVS John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland.

Following his assignment at Johns Hopkins, Les utilized his knowledge of environmental services to develop the health care divisions of several large supply companies in the Washington area. His key to success in this market was his ability combine his health care expertise to introduce new products, systems and processes while providing training to address both JACHO and infectious disease concerns.

He has created and built two software development companies specializing in Health care
spend solutions and Geo-Data tracking technologies for the National Institutes of Health.
Through HPA Groups, Les has conducted several consulting assignments with health care
related companies utilizing his expertise in both healthcare and environmental services

Mr. Pilkinton’s passion has always been in the EVS industry. His current role for the past ten
years is as Executive Vice President of HPA Groups where he manages and directs the
environmental services functions of the HPA Groups’ contracts.

Maria I. A. Vought, CHESP, CMIP

Sr. Director Compliance and Operations

Ms. Vought is an experienced Healthcare Environmental Services Management professional with a proven track record of achieving peak performance levels. She possesses numerous
certifications to include the American Hospital Association’s CHESP, “Certified Healthcare
Environmental Services Professional”, CMIP, “Certified Mastery of Infection Prevention” and
CSCT, “Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician” amongst others. She has served in the
Healthcare Environmental Services profession for over thirty years with tremendous success in meeting targeted business objectives while making invaluable contributions to the mission of her organization.

As an Environmental Services Director at multiple large and prestigious facilities,
she was responsible for Environmental Health & Safety, linen management, grounds keeping, and event planning; with oversight of contract management, pest management program, waste management programs, and interior design.

Over the years, Ms. Vought has held various positions in the private sector and federal arena.
She has served at several financially challenged facilities in NY and Washington D.C. At Mount Sinai Medical Center, N.Y.C., the team under her leadership achieved record level scores in Inpatient Satisfaction Surveys. As Director of Environmental Services for St. John’s Division in NY, she was responsible for the administration and control of an annual multi-million-dollar budget. She has also had leadership roles at National Institutes of Health, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Doctors Community Hospital and Howard University. She current is the Director of Operations for HPA Groups. Her keen passion for quality and customer service has resulted in a high degree of customer satisfaction.

Gregory M. Murad, Esq.

General Counsel

Mr. Murad is a senior attorney with accomplishments in health law, transactions and contract
negotiations and labor law. Greg has over thirty years’ experience with a track record of successful litigation, court and administrative hearings and client representation.

Some of his experience includes management of a law office of several attorneys, establishment of a health care collections function, counsel to compliance committee, various successful labor negotiations with several bargaining units of local unions with a large metropolitan Washington health system. He has decided labor disputes based on union contracts and labor case law as a Labor Arbitrator with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Mr. Murad has also acted as the attorney in the corporate -real estate division for the leasing and sale of real estate and decided property tax issues for handicapped and blind individuals.
